- The "Display Options" dialog allows the user to customize NetMinder
-
- Ethernet's display. There are seven options:
-
- * Map Ethernet addresses to names: checking this option will
-
- direct NetMinder Ethernet to print a name wherever an Ethernet
-
- address would be displayed. The user provides the map between
-
- Ethernet addresses and names using the Address Map… menu item
-
- under the Options menu.
-
- * Display packet data in hex: checking this option will
-
- display all Ethernet data in hexadecimal digits instead
-
- of decoded protocols.
-
- * High speed display: checking this option will turn off
-
- statistic drawing while NetMinder Ethernet is collecting
-
- packets. This option might be checked if the user is
-
- expecting heavy traffic on the Ethernet network and wants
-
- collect as many packets as possible.
-
- * Abbreviated packet display: checking this option causes the
-
- discard of "non-essential" protocol and pad data for some
-
- protocols when packets are decoded in the Ethernet Data Window.
-
- * Map Ethernet addresses to manufacturer: checking this option
-
- will cause a six character manufacturer code to be displayed
-
- whenever an unmapped Ethernet address is displayed.
-
- * Statistics update time: to specify the number of seconds between
-
- statistics updates and redraws, change the statistics update time.
-
- * When using the Map… button: this option allows the user to select
-
- either the source or destination Ethernet address to be mapped
-
- when using the Map… button in the NetMinder Ethernet window.
